Blakely Cottle studied theatre at Florida State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was the recipient of the Ruby Lloyd Aspey Scholarship and member of Alpha Psi Omega, the Theatre Honors Fraternity. At The Dance Foundation Blakely is the Program Director for infant-2nd grade dance classes and a teaching artist specializing in young students and students with special needs. She has danced since childhood and throughout college. Her first love is jazz dance, and she has experience in ballet and tap. Blakely has been with The Dance Foundation as a teaching artist for 14 years and loves it more each year! She is fluent in American Sign Language. Blakely has continued her education through the National Dance Education Organization’s courses in Creative Dance in Early Childhood. She loves to use her background in theatre and dance to create engaging, fun lesson plans for her students and to create a space where each child feels welcome and is able to achieve their personal best.
